Arthur Award Gala Dinner
In 1949, Arthur Landstreet, a Tennessee hotelier and chair of AH&MA’s Education Committee, proposed for the first time an independent training organization to prepare future professionals to fulfill the hospitality industry’s many open positions. Industry response was lukewarm, but Arthur land street managed to interest Conrad Hilton in his idea.
2 years later, AH&MA announced the formation of the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI). This award is aimed to recognize Arthur land street’s great vision in developing talents for the industry. Arthur Award is visioned to recognize those who has remarkably contributed to develop talents for the industry and motivated them to achieve more endeavors.
